Brokers
Choosing a broker for Wavqu
Wavqu runs on your own MetaTrader 4 account at any broker that meets four requirements. We recommend one broker because it is the one we build and test on; others that advertise the same features are listed below for you to check.
What the account must support
- MetaTrader 4. The Wavqu EA is an MT4 program. MT5, cTrader and web platforms do not run it.
- A Bitcoin symbol priced in US dollars (BTCUSD or similar) on that MT4 account.
- Hedging allowed. At times the strategy holds a buy and a sell on BTCUSD at once. "Netting" accounts, where opposite orders cancel each other, are not compatible.
- Bitcoin trading at weekends. Bitcoin moves seven days a week; the strategy expects to manage open trades on Saturdays and Sundays. Brokers that close crypto for the weekend leave trades unmanaged until Monday.
Keep the account for Wavqu only. Manual trades on the same account share its margin. The broker's margin level and the strategy's own protections look at the whole account, so a manual position can push margin to the point where the broker closes positions or the strategy's equity protection closes the basket early. Manual trades also count towards your deposit allowance. Keep manual trading on a separate account.
Also needed: a minimum trade size of 0.01 lots, Expert Advisors permitted (nearly every MT4 broker allows them), and leverage of at least 1:100 on crypto so a full basket with its hedge can be held. Retail accounts under UK, EU and Australian rules cap crypto leverage at 1:2 and, in the UK, bar retail clients from crypto CFDs altogether, so those brokers' international entities or professional accounts are the ones that fit. Read the risk information before you choose any account.
IC Markets
The broker Wavqu is developed and tested on. On an IC Markets MT4 account we have confirmed every requirement above in live use: BTCUSD available, hedged positions accepted, trades opened and managed on a Saturday, 0.01-lot steps, and crypto leverage that comfortably covers a full basket.
- Raw-spread account type with commission; spreads from zero on majors and tight on BTCUSD.
- MT4 servers used by our own demo and development accounts, so the setup guide's screens match what you will see.
- International entities serve most countries; check which entity accepts your country and what crypto leverage it offers before funding.
We have no commercial arrangement with IC Markets. Open a demo account there first, attach the Wavqu EA and confirm the first check-in on your dashboard before you deposit real money.
Other brokers that advertise MT4 with Bitcoin CFDs
These brokers publicly offer MetaTrader 4 and Bitcoin CFDs. We have not run Wavqu on each of them. Before opening an account, confirm the three things on each card using a demo account: hedging allowed, weekend trading on the Bitcoin symbol, and the crypto leverage your entity gives you.

Last reviewed 25 October 2026. Broker terms change; a broker on this list may withdraw crypto CFDs, change hours or leverage, or stop accepting your country at any time. Nothing here is a recommendation to use a particular broker beyond the one we test on, and nothing on this page is investment advice.
What will not work
- MT5-only or cTrader-only accounts. The EA needs MT4. Many brokers offer both; pick MT4 when opening the account.
- Netting accounts. Common on MT5 and on some US-facing brokers (FIFO rules). The rescue hedge cannot exist on them.
- Brokers without a Bitcoin symbol on MT4, or with Bitcoin closed at weekends.
- UK retail accounts, where crypto CFDs are not offered to retail clients, and any retail entity capped at 1:2 crypto leverage.
- Spot crypto exchanges. Coinbase, Binance and the like are not MT4 brokers.
Not sure what your account allows? Open MT4, right-click the Bitcoin symbol in Market Watch, choose Specification, and look for the trading hours and the contract size. Hedging and leverage are shown in your broker's account settings. The FAQ and the beginners page explain the terms.
